With a family background in the industry, her interest developed early. Though she spent a few years dabbling in other projects outside the industry, she was always drawn back to it. After graduating from Shrishti School of Art, Design, and Technology, Taarini started her company 5ft Apart, at the age of 23 and has spent the last few years developing a studio.

Taarini refuses to be defined by a single style, always going across the board. More than the final product itself, her favourite part of work is immersing herself in the transformation process and the creative process that accompanies it. She enjoys spending time outdoors exploring different cities and styles in her free time.

Founded by Taarini Jouhari in 2018, the company has a prolific range of over 30 projects under its belt – from residential homes to boutique commercial space, including Shruti Sushma and Zara Umrigar.

The company makes a conscious effort to take on unique projects, focusing on handmade and custom-made products while collaborating with many local furniture companies.
