Maka Zai

Stilldistilling Spirits is an independent, homegrown startup that produces premium, homegrown artisanal rum, Maka Zai, to elevate your drinking experience. Both variants, the Bartender's Edition (White Rum) and the Tribute Edition (India's first Gold Rum), are made from locally sourced sugarcane from various parts of the country.

Stilldistilling Spirits has two flagship brands, Maka Zai White Rum and Maka Zai Gold Rum. Maka Zai translates to ‘I want’ in Konkani. The company also has a limited-edition barrel-aged rum, MESMA. Stilldistilling Spirits’ products are proudly blended on Indian soil and nourished by the sweet waters of Goa.

The company’s ambition and dedication over the past five years are represented by a tiny yet marvelous creature – the Olive Ridley turtle. Born on Goan soil, where the brand has its roots, the turtle begins its perilous journey and travels up to 9000 kms, but always makes its way back home. The Olive Ridley turtle embodies everything that Stilldistilling Spirits stands for – focus, resilience, dedication and determination. It serves as a reminder that wonders are truly possible when you keep chasing your goals.
